Bringing in the New Year

As I mentioned in my earlier post (here) I spent my New Year's eve in beautiful Byron Bay.

It was the best New Year's Eve I've ever had! We camped over 3 nights just across from the beach and then danced into 2014 at one of the biggest beach parties I think I will ever attend. Beach, Bonfire, great music, fireworks, 2 of my best girls and my incredible boyfriend of 5 years - really can it get anymore perfect? I'm still in awe of its amazingness!

It was the best way to end a boring year and celebrate what I believe it going to be the best year yet!

Happy 2014 ~ !! ~

Happy New Year My Lovelies!!

I gathered it was about time I switch off holiday mode and get the blog rolling for 2014. So, Welcome Back and I hope the year is filled with love, happiness and good health for all of you and your families.

There is always something exciting and promising that comes with a brand spanking New Year. It is mysterious and luminous. I haven't shaken my anticipation for 2014 since my New Years Eve in Byron Bay (which was completely amazing!) Everyday I wake up feeling excited. I have a feeling it is going to be the best year yet :)

I'll be honest, 2013 felt like a very mediocre year for myself. I always try to be positive but the last few months of 2013 I felt worn out, a bit upset and kind of disappointed with myself. Not because anything terrible happened, which I am ever grateful about. I feel like I didn't challenge myself, that I just cruised through the year without having some real achievement to be proud of.

However, (positive as usual) I have used this as a turning point in my life. I remember the feeling that I had as 2013 came to a close, I vowed to myself that one year from now I would damn well not be feeling the same as I did at that moment.

I feel the most driven that I have... well, ever. I'm determined to make 2014 the best year of my life and I am so much looking forward to sharing it all with you.

Until next time my dears,

Stay Stylish & Stay Driven

My Merry Country Christmas XX

Hello My Lovelies!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and enjoyed time with family, far too much food & picked up a nice Boxing Day Bargain ;)

This is what I wore for Christmas Day - comfortable and effortless. Yes I know, another striped dress and another bloody hat! Hah what can I say? I like what I like.

For those who are unaware, I come from a very small, beautiful, Queensland Country town which is where I was over my Christmas break. I hope you enjoy the scenery in the shots. My parents have the best view!

Oh and my baby made a special guest appearance in some of the shots. He's just the cutest!

I hope every one has a happy and healthy New Year!! I look forward to sharing it with you darlings :)

Baller Baby

I like to pretend I'm a badass sometimes ;)

My top tip for wearing a midriff top is team it with a longer hemline. I don't feel comfortable bearing the whole mid section which is why I prefer to wear mine with a highwaisted bottom and just show the slightest slither. But if you have the guts (mind the pun) to go full on midriff exposed,  power to you and Go Girl Go!!

It's a No Brainer

Stripes are a classic and always look polished without trying hard. I feel effortlessly stylish when wearing this top.

You don't need much to finish off a striped piece. It should be the statement in an outfit with details all subtly complimenting it beautifully. I used red lipstick and the gorgeous aquamarine clutch to add colour to this outfit.

Colour Me Happy ~~

Now this is my type of outfit. Bright and colourful - the same way I like to view the World!
Colour makes me feel happy, positive and more alive. Seriously, try a pretty, colourful outfit and tell me how it makes you feel. I guarantee your day will be nothing short of fabulous :)

I wear this top repeatedly and every time I do people think I've just had my hair done! (Mind you I did just get my hair done before shooting this). The trick to dressing in colour is knowing which colours compliment your skin colouring - this is vital to know. It takes a bit of experimenting and you can do it with your own wardrobe or go into a shop. Hold different colours up to your face and see how it makes you look - washed out or glowing? Try colours that you would never think of and look to see if the colours are more cool (blue based colours) or warm (yellow based colours) - this will determine your skin type. Once you've nailed your colour profile, and are wearing colours that compliment you, just watch the compliments roll in :)

She's a Class Act

....Well she tries to be.

Today I channelled my inner Lady (I'm sure she is in there somewhere!) by teaming this classic black jumpsuit with a beautiful oversized hat.

The metallic chunky heels on my shoes, along with the necklace lifted the whole look with a modern edge. It's so important not to be too cliché with your looks. You should always add your little touch - the part that makes it your own.
